5 inch and up x Nelly: The Steffi blazer

5 INCH AND UP x NELLY blazer
NELLY necklace
ZARA coat
NIKE top
GINA TRICOT jeans
ZARA bag
RIVER ISLAND shoes

It’s been quite a lot about my Nelly collection lately.. launch parties and presentations, but I wanted to get a chance to show you few of the items in real life and tell you the story behind the pieces. So this is the Steffi blazer that we made in black and dark grey. It’s named after my dearest younger sister Stefanie.

Living in another country, away from her and the rest of my family is probably the hardest thing with living abroad, so I convinced Steffi to start a blog (here)! Her style is quite androgynous and sporty. Hence a straight cut blazer, with a masculine influence and a little bit of padding on the shoulders for a slightly boxy shape and so my ideal blazer was born.

Designing with Math

Around the time fashion week was kicking off, I was offered a small collaboration that I could not pass up on. My-wardrobe gave me the chance to design a dress together with Shaz, who is that mastermind behind the brand Math, that I wrote about here.

So we spent a day in his studio, sipping coffee and sketching. With his vision and my ideal dress in mind it wasn’t long until we had a draft of a perfectly balanced sporty design, that reflected the aesthetics of Math to a T and stood for all the things I love.

Mesh, leather and neon details - my ideal combination as well as the materials Shaz throughout his SS13 collection that he showed on LFW.

I loved the simple T-shirt sleeves and wrap-skirt effect that was created through the leather panels. Unbelievably the dress was delivered to me only 2 days after my studio visit and I proudly wore it to the SS13 Math show last Saturday.

Can’t wait to show you the dress and best of all.. I will be giving one of my readers the opportunity to collaborate with Math on a design just like this. More on that soon, in the meantime you can shop Math over at My-wardrobe.

1970's magazine clutch

I’m in Finland again for a few days, just a quick visit to shoot something for a favorite Finnish magazine. We shot in the studio yesterday which was a nice change for me, not long until I’ll be able to show you the photos!

These where taken a few days ago back in London where I spontaneously bought up a box of these vintage 1970’s magazine clutches. So not just do I have one in every color but also a few extra that I am selling in my brand new shop, check it out here!

So quite an iconic piece this clutch and did I mention that Carrie had one....

LFWend instagrammed

Fashion Weekend in short. Besides managing my own little corner I gave into buying another new Muubaa jacket, discovered a brand new shoe designer - Joanne Stokes, and admired Finsk shoes that never fail to amaze me!

Post fashion week

KAREN LONDON ring
ACNE bag
DOLCE & GABBANA x MADONNA sunnies
ALEXANDER WANG boots

Slightly exhausted from Fashion Weekend, not just for the long days of the ‘official working bit’ but for fighting the urge to shop around - a lot. It’s more of a shopping paradise than an exhibition nowadays. But it’s been amazing meeting so many readers and being able to show you my Nelly collection in flesh!

A few snaps from something I wore while running around earlier this week, thanks Shini for the photos!

Backstage at Topshop Unique

A few shots backstage from the Topshop Unique SS13 show, just minutes before it all kicked off at Bedford Square last Sunday. Clean, sleek and minimal, quite the opposite to last seasons utility layering. However, one thing remained - the wearable approach left me desiring for most of the pieces while the mature take on subtle prints with a reference to Helmut Lang made sure that casual comfort would continue to be a priority in my spring wardrobe.

The J.W uniform

Ah J.W. The collection that I previewed earlier this week launched on Friday at Topshop, where I spent most of my morning, choosing trying and adoring pretty much until the point where the lovely Topshop crew started rolling their eyes. But I made some great choices and wore some of it at fashion week yesterday.

ps. Today I’m live streaming the Topshop Unique collection here on my blog at 3pm. They’ve gone all out and set up a chance for you to shop the collection straight of the runway, with even a chance to customize your picks. Very conveniently advanced, I think I might have to bring my ipad so I can get in on the action and if Unique is anything like last season, we’re in for a treat.

pps. Last day to take part in my giveaway for a chance to win a shopping day with me at Cheshire Oaks designer outlet with £500 to spend, click here to enter.

Faces of fashion week

London fashion week kicked off today, so to celebrate a few close-up’s on the most beautiful faces that I photographed backstage back in spring. I will be taking it quite easy this season, everyone is stressing so much but I guess it’s what you make of it.

See you around Somerset House x
